It has a wide range of usage in many different fields.

Is it grammatical? It seems so to me but I am not sure anyhow.
 
I would say: it is used in many different fields.

Are you sure you mean "usage" and not "use"? "
 
Yes, I meant "usage". "Usage" is a noun, isn't it? "Use" is a verb, therefore it does not fit there. Am I right?
 
"Use" (pronounced "uze") is a verb. "Use" (pronounced "yew-ss") is a noun.

"Usage" and "use" are both nouns. The former is often misused and is meant to be used in a restricted context. In the context of your sentence, the correct word is "use".
