How transparent these words are?

fireworks, lamppost, right-hand man, half- heartedly, left- winger, birthday card, leave out, good- looking, first- class, make off with.

I don't follow. What exactly do you mean by 'transparent'? They look pretty opaque to me. Do you mean that the definition of the word is unambiguous?
