They are talking about the boy ghosts A saw in the basement, and B says works for me suddenly, but I can't get the meaning in the context. Is B saying "she understands"?

More than that, she's saying that if the ghost dog is intended to get them to leave then it is very effective (it works for her), she will get out of there, presumably in a hurry.
