wouldn't mind if + simple present

Learn English Online - English grammar - correct usage of mind

We can use don't mind/wouldn't mind to say that we are not troubled by something.

• 
  [*=left]I don't mind your coming late.
  [*=left]I don't mind your opening the window.
  [*=left]I wouldn't mind if you smoke.

I have some trouble about the third one. In my humble opinion, It should be 'smoked' because the main clause is constructed with 'would', namely, it should be ''I wouldn't mind if you smoked. Am I right or must it be 'smoke'?

Yes, smoked is correct. This is a second conditional construction. Another word order would be "If you smoked, I would not mind".

Good job. I don't know why they gave that other construction.
