[Answered] Writing a novel– would using '?!' be appropriate in dialogues?

Greetings,

I am currently writing some sort of long tale, which I am trying to improve to the point of publishing it, and I have been wondering whether using '?!' sparsely in dialogues is appropriate. For example:

– What on Earth are you trying to do?!

Also, can the adverb 'fundamentally' be used for a person, or only for concepts?

The use of '?!' is non-standard and should be avoided.

Please ask the unrelated question in a separate thread, giving us a full sentence containing 'fundamentally' and a person.
