Hi teachers, :)

Q: Do you want to teach here?
A: Yes, but I'll give only one class. Is it correct?

Many thanks in advance.

NO. The question appears to come from somebody who may be in a position to offer a job; so does the answer.

No, it isn't.

A: Yes, but I'll only take Year 8.

Yes, but I'll only teach Grade 6.

Yes, but I'll give only one lesson a day.

If I were Person A and I received that response to my question, I would be looking for a different new employee! ;-)

Thank you very much for correcting my sentence, Rover.
Can I also say that I'll teach only one class?

As long as you and the other person know exactly what you mean by "a class", then yes. Do you mean "I will teach only one hour a week" where one hour is the length of one period of teaching? Or do you mean "I will teach only one specific group of children" (in the UK, up to 30 children together can be referred to as "a class") but without specifying how may times a week you are happy to teach them?
