[Vocabulary] [yet/but] similar yet different breeds

Would you please basically explain when you use "yet" and when you use "but"? Here is an example making use of "yet" instead of "but" .

"Meet Two Similar Yet Different Breeds: Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute."

What is the basic difference between "yet" and "but"? Is there any difference in meaning in this example?

There's lots of stuff online about this. Have you already done some research? Save us some time and tell us what you already know. Make sure to focus on difference of use, not meaning.

Yes, the example sentence you provide is a good example of when to use yet instead of but.
