Mam, actually there is no author name I found for this quote when I searched on Google . I tried to figure it out through Google but failed.

This text is one I saw on my wife's instagram status currently. She is not good with me now. So I actually want to know the meaning of the sentence.

The greeting, unnecessary in this forum, is "Hi".

"Ma'am" (note the spelling) is used in British English only to women of a superior rank in certain services.

We do not address each other as "Sir" or "Ma'am/Madam" in this forum.

Using English has no connection at all with Espresso English.

Which particular words or phrases in your sentences do you not understand?

I see no connection between the second part and the first.

Like teechar, I'm also struggling to understand the tenuous connection between the first four sentences and the final one.

I suppose it's trying to say that you should treat everyone with kindness because everyone is fighting a hidden battle, despite how they may appear on the outside.

I think the whole passage is rather badly written and lacks coherence.

The overall message is "be kind." Even the person who looks like they have a great, happy life might be troubled inside.

Only "but" works for me in those sentences. For example, I would say, "You can sound confident but be anxious on the inside."

It's an old expression: Appearances can be misleading.
