What is the meaning of the quoted phrase? Unfortunately, I can't find the movie where I heard it. In one of the scenes a guy tells a girl that "She will see him through the rain". They couldn't be together for some reason obviously from that scene and went through difficulties.

"You will see me through the rain".

Without having seen the film, we can only make wild guesses.

It sounds like it's meant to be a romantic line, where the rain is meant partially literally and partially as a metaphor for the obscurity, misery and hopelessness of living a single life. This is from a romantic film aimed at young women, right? The central conceit around which films of this genre are constructed is that life is incomplete, inauthentic and meaningless until coupling is achieved. In storywriting terms, the coupling is the resolution, which invariably takes place at the end of the film, so I'll take a guess that she does in fact see him again, during a scene where it's raining, possibly at or more likely towards the end of the film. Right?

I have been trying to find it, but in vain. I only saw a part of it on YouTube.
