Hi,

There is a conversation in my book.
"You'd think they'd get the message"
What does the speaker mean by saying "message"
I know what a message is but it refers to whose message?

I presume they had previously complained, along with some other people, about the lines (I guess because the airport is understaffed at certain times of the year), but the lines are still there, which means the airport management did nothing about it (that is, they ignored the message=complaints and did not hire anyone else for support.

Besides the literal meaning, 'get the message' as an idiom means

to understand what someone is trying to tell you, even if they do not say it directly.

Then, why it's not written "You will think they will...."
I mean can we write it by "will" or it' incorrect to do so?

No, "will" would be incorrect.
