Lesson Plan Text

First Letter- Phonics Miming Game
Instructions for teachers
One student mimes words beginning with one letter of the alphabet such as the word in
the right-hand column until their partners guess which letter they chose. If you want to
encourage them to come up with their own ideas for suitable words to mime, you could
hide the right-hand column. To encourage paying more attention to the phonics, you could
ask the people guessing to say the sound of the letter, the name of the letter and the word
or words which that person has mimed (“a, A, apple”, etc).
