Number of syllables - Storytelling game
A LESSON PLAN FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS
Oral practice of one-syllable, two-syllable, three-syllable and four-syllable words through making up stories.

Take turns continuing a story with one sentence. When it is your turn, choose one of the number of syllables cards, choose a word related to the story which has that number of syllables, put that word into a sentence, and say that sentence to continue the story. Then take turns continuing the story in the same way. Your teacher will tell you if:
- you should use the story starter that they give you or you can start the story how you like
- you can tell any genre of story or you should tell the genre of story that they tell you
- you can pick any card you like each time, or you should pick at random
- you can end the story whenever you get to a good ending, or you should continue until they tell you to bring it to an end
- you can use a dictionary etc to help, or you should try with no help
Possible genres: romance, fairytale, sci fi, action/ adventure, fantasy, spy, crime
