Lesson Plan Content:

Opinions on consumerism

Take turns giving your opinions on consumerism using the topic words and/ or opinions words in the table on the next page. Your partner will listen and agree or disagree, ask for more details, give their own opinion, etc. Discuss that topic for as long as you like, then take turns doing the same with other topics and/ or opinions language below.

Share one opinion that you agreed on with the class and see if others agree.

Ask about anything on the next page that you don’t understand, are not sure how to pronounce, are not sure that you used correctly, etc, working together as a class to make related opinions on consumerism each time.

Without looking at the table below, join words and parts of words in the same section to make words and phrases related to this topic and opinions. Other matches not in the table may also be possible, but there is probably only one way of matching them all.

Check as a class or with the table. Other matches not in the table may also be possible, but there is probably only one way of matching them all.

Without looking at the table below, brainstorm as many different forms of each word on the last page as you can, e.g. an adverb and an opposite if it is an adjective. You can add prefixes before the word and/ or suffixes after the word, plus any other changes which are necessary. Many words not in the table are also possible.

Check as a class or with the table below. Many other words are possible, so please check if you wrote something different. Then change groups. With your new partner, have a similar discussion, but this time with only the key words on a fresh copy of the last page to help.
