Lesson Plan Content:
Present Continuous Christmas mix and match
Instructions for teachers
Decide if you want the cards on the second page to be left together or cut up so that students need to put three cards together each time. Cut up one set per class or group. One student makes a crazy match from their cards (e.g. “Grandmother is kissing a heavy bag”, then someone else tries to change it to a less crazy version by only changing one or two cards. They then take turns doing the same.
When you stop them, take questions about what any unknown cards mean, maybe get feedback on some crazy and not crazy matches that they made, get them to compete to make the craziest matches, and/ or get them to work together to make as many good matches as they can from the whole pack (using each card once only).
