Three options Present Simple bluff
Choose a sentence below. Fill two gaps with true information and one gap with false information. Then do the same with as many different sentences below as you can, mixing up where you put the false information each time (sometimes in the first gap, sometimes in the second gap, and sometimes in the third gap).
I sometimes read _________________, _________________ and _________________.
I can ride _________________, _________________ and _________________.
I often eat _________________, _________________ and _________________.
I never wear _________________, _________________ and _________________.
I can play _________________, _________________ and _________________.
I want to study _________________, _________________ and _________________.
I often go to _________________, _________________ and _________________.
I have _________________, _________________ and _________________.
I never talk _________________, _________________ and _________________.
I often watch _________________, _________________ and _________________.
I can make _________________, _________________ and _________________.
Read out one of your sentences above and see if your partner can guess which option is false. Then take turns doing the same. If you are scoring, you get one point for each of your partner’s options that you guess correctly, and one point for each of yours that your partner guesses wrongly.
Ask about any sentences above which you don’t understand, couldn’t complete, are not sure that you completed correctly, etc, trying to guess which of your teacher’s three related options are wrong each time.
Do the same, but making your own sentences with “I…_________________, _________________ and _________________” and with different verbs and/ or different times to the sentences above.
Do the same, but giving your partner the “I…_________________, _________________ and _________________” blanked sentence that they should use to make their true or false statement.
