It has come to the Stratham Police Association’s attention that there is some open ends regarding the ownership of certain weapons and other property that are presently in possession of, and for the full benefit and use of, the Stratham Police Department. This memo is to assist the Town of Stratham and the Stratham Police Department with accepting any and all donations that the Stratham Police Association has made to assist the Police Department with purchasing these weapons and property to be used by the department over the years.
The Stratham Police Association, through the years, has assisted the Stratham Police Department financially in order for the police department to purchase weapons and other types of equipment to be used by officers in their official capacity. It was never the intent or design of the Stratham Police Association to retain any ownership or control over any of these weapons or pieces of equipment that we may have assisted the police department with purchasing or donated.
As a non-profit organization registered with the NH Attorney Generals Office, our only function is to support the police department’s mission and not to retain ownership over any property that we donated or may have paid for that is being used by the Stratham Police Department.
To that end, and specifically by way of this instrument, the Stratham Police Association is formally donating and passing on any interest to the Stratham Police Department the following list of property that we may have donated or helped purchase over the years. We are issuing this formal donation letter to assist the Select Board with facilitating any process required by law to formally accept the items that we either purchased or donated to the Stratham Police Department.
1. All gym equipment that is located in the Fitness Room of the Stratham Police Department estimated at a value of _______________ (List of specific equipment attached)
2. All locker room lockers in the men’s and women’s locker rooms located in the Stratham Police Department estimated at a value of ___________________(List of specific equipment attached)
3. All kitchen cabinets and appliances located in the break room of the Stratham Police Department estimated at a value of ______________________(list of specific items attached)
4. A Honda Snow-Blower stored in the Stratham Police Department garage estimated at a value of _________________(specific information regarding item attached)
