Smile Structutred Writing

I love to write but never will understand structured writing. I have a idea on how it should be but it seems to much trouble. I feel one word should outline the whole first paragraph then use your points or ideas in the rest of the letter like (123-abc).

I once thought I could write the perfect letter but found out that was impossible. Is there something to structure in writing a letter? Paul/pljames

I think there is a structure for a letter, except chatty ones to friends.
Salutation (Dear X)
1 Purpose of letter (make this clear and brief- complaint/application/ etc)
2 Necessary information for the receiuver to understand the situation (history of complaint, why your are great, etc)
3 Action you wish the person to take (send cheque, invite for interview, etc)

End

Excellent answer. I try to follow those instructions but I get chatty. Paul/pljames

Imagine if the person on the other end has to read and respond to fifty letters a day- do they want chat?
