Default Letter to work from home

How can I request to work from home ?/

    Dear XXX

I would like to work from home for two days (09-08-2012 and 10-08-2012) on xx project.

I would be grateful if you would approve my request.

    Thanks

Is this one is correct ?

It's fine, as Rover said. I'd prefer 'on the xx project', and I'd use 'Thank you' rather than 'Thanks' in a letter to a superior.
