My friend's havin' a problem... She's plannin' to write the consul of Australian Embassy regarding visitation to Australia, she's goin' to visit her brother but she doesn't know what to put in the greeting and she doesn't have any idea how formal the letter will go.. Can someone give us a sample letter? Thanks

If you're writing to an embassy, the salutation for an ambassador is 'Your Excellency', without 'dear'. It should be very formal in style, keep it short and state the purpose of the visit, then thank them for their time and cosideration.
