Where would this be? In many countries it's not a vacation at all, but a legal right, and you don't have to ask for it - just give notice of when you will be away (and possibly when you expect to return - though in some countries this may not be required).

Are you requesting maternity leave? (time off to have the baby and usually 12 weeks after the birth)
