Are you doing to donate the funds so that the church can purchase a new sound system? (pay for the entire installation, etc.)

Or are you going to donate the actual set-up of a new sound system? (time and materials)

If I were you, I would write to the minister about the points as below:

First, I tell him my intention of writing the letter, that is to donate a sound system.

Second, I tell him why I want to donate it. For instance, the sound system of the chapel doesn't work well or any reasons I have.

Third, I detail what kind of sound system I am going to donate is, such as its condition, functions, features, appearance, etc. A picture is worth a thousand words. If possible, I would attach its picture.

Finally, I ask him whether he is interested in it. If yes, I'd like to ask him how to donate it.
