Dear teachers,

I would like to ask that is it impolite for a subordinate to use " As a matter of fact" in an email to her supervisor?

For example,
The proposal to our client is almost complete. As a matter of fact that I decided to complete last night, it will be complete within today.

Thank you!

It doesn't make sense in that sentence.

However, "As a matter of fact" can sound rude.

You could say "In fact, " or "As it happens" instead.

Please get copies of the work site photos to John.
As it happens, I just sent them to him this morning.
Actually, I just sent them to him this morning.
In fact, I sent them to him just this morning.
Great minds think alike - I sent them to him just a few hours ago.

(The latter if you have a friendly relationship with the person making the request.)
