That's a very lazily written post, David. You have already shown us that you can capitalise and punctuate better than that.
It would not suffice if I were your boss. I'd expect a more polite request and a reason for asking.
'Do you think you could manage without me for a couple of hours this afternoon, please? It's my grandmother's funeral.'

May I have a couple of hours off?
David, though I'm a not a teacher nor a native speaker I want to tell you do not forget to capitalise "I" and forget to write shorterning.
We try to help learners speak in correct English.

Is it a polite way if we say could I have a couple of hours off because my wife is going to the airport etc
In same way it is more polite if we say could I have your lighter for my cigar please?
Just other one example, avoid smoking too bad habbit I have tried many times to give up....

You need to be very careful with the word order here. Are you telling us these sentences are OK, or asking?

No, I was asking if both sentences were written in polite way.
Damn, instead of common word order mistakes, I do typographical also as you have mentioned. Mobile phones are not a suitable thing for surfing....
