Can I use "riot of colors" to describe a "place" which is really colorful?

He entered Jack's new office. It was a riot of colors.

If not, what can I use?

Almost - we don't use the plural. We say something is "a riot of colour".

I am interested in this thread.

"Riot" doesn't sound positive to my ears but does "a riot of colour" carry a negative or positive connotation?

Thank you.

Generally, it has a positive connotation.
