Hello, welcome abroad.

I think that's just a matter of practice and time.

Welcome to the forum Stephaine.

We often receive requests like yours. Khosro's response may not appear very helpful, but there is not really much else that can be said.

The more you speak, the more confidence you will gain. It may take time, but it will happen.

And don't forget, if you worry about your mistakes, that at least you can speak some English. Very few native speakers of English can speak your language at all.

Hi Stephanie. We all have ups and downs in language learning. And everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps you are better with listening comprehension.

Worrying about making mistakes is one of the biggest problems in learning a second language, in my opinion. Think of it this way - if someone says one or two sentences to you in Chinese, do you care if they make a mistake? Even if it is a funny mistake and you laugh, you probably don't think that they are stupid, right? You probably just think it is great that they are trying. Try to think like that when you are speaking English and I hope it will give you more confidence.

No one ever got good at speaking any language without making lots and lots of mistakes and not speaking smoothly.

:)
