(1) Here in the States, people often say:

I am very sorry to hear that... .

(2) One of our presidents was famous for always saying:

I FEEL YOUR PAIN.

And, one thing...Can "I feel for you!" be used at all while addressing the person we're feeling for? Thanks again...
