Hi,

Question:
Which sentence is correct?

Sentence1:
My skills and knowledge are a good match for this position.
Sentence2:
My skills and knowledge are good match for this position.
Sentence3:
My skills and knowledge is a good match for this position.
Sentence4:
My skills and knowledge is good match for this position.

Thanks

No. 1 is correct.

Better : My skills and knowledge are well-suited for the position.

not a teacher

**Neither a teacher nor a native speaker.**

I have the bad feeling that all 4 sentences are wrong.
First I thought sentence 1 was correct.
(It sounds natural.)
But then I realized that match is a verb here.

What about this:
My skills and knowledge are well matched for this position. :?:

I'm very interested in reading the teachers' opinions as well :)

P.S: Thank you for the great question.

Cheers!

Match is a noun, not a verb, in the sentence.

not a teacher

Hi uktous,
I think that:
#1. is correct,
#2. isn't correct for lack of an article,
#3. & #4. aren't correct because 'My skill and knowledge' is a compound
subject - plural.
Frankly speaking, I hate the grammar.
S.M.
