Is the 'was' optional below?
The 2 warring counties declared an armistice yesterday, as (was) agreed.

pass along some more information -- which you probably already know.
(3) I
think that if you analyzed your sentence completely, it would be:
The two warring countries declared an armistice yesterday,
as [it was] agreed [to declare].
(4) I base my
opinion on this example from
English Review Grammar
by Walter Kay Smart:
The performance will be given
as [it was]
advertised [to be given].
(5) If you analyze it as a complete sentence, then it is easier to
understand that
as in that sentence is being used as an conjunction
connecting two sentences.
