Is the following sentence a pangram. " ' Bcefghjklmpquvxyz' isn't a word.".
I showed you exactly how to punctuate this previously:

Is the following sentence a pangram? "'Bcefghjklmpquvxyz' isn't a word."

Note that I added a question mark to the first sentence, removed incorrect spaces following both the double and the single quote, and removed the extra period ("full stop" in British English) following the final quotation mark.

I don't know what a "pangram" is, so I can't answer your question.

[EDIT] I've looked up "pangram" and learned that it's "a sentence or verse that contains all the letters of the alphabet." Although your sentence appears to contain all the letters, it does so by cheating with a made-up non-word. It doesn't count.

Re: Pangram sentence

A pangram is a grammatical sentence, containing real words, that contains every letter of the alphabet at least once. The most famous example in BrE is:

A quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

That sentence is used to help people learn to touch type, because you need to know where every letter is (without looking at the keyboard) in order to type it correctly. As GoesStation said, your sentence doesn't count because it uses a made-up word.

The version I learnt at school started with "The" but used "a lazy dog". I found both that version and "A ... the" online, but using "the" both times means typing more letters and doesn't give the learner the opportunity to type "a" as a single word, which is a very useful skill!

Yes, I completely agree. I realised I prefer your version (with the indefinite article), which is why I deleted my post.

Re: Pangram sentence

Please don't start any more posts with "Dear Sir". As I explained in a previous post, it is too formal for the forum and we are not all men.

Re: Pangram sentence

Even if all of us were men "Dear Sir" would be inappropriate. You are not writing a business letter, Paramah Sungelee.

[STRIKE]Dear Sir,[/STRIKE]

We are not all men.

E
xcuse me.

Punctuate the ends of sentences.

There were mistakes in my two previous sentences. Is the following sentence a pangram?

End questions with question marks.

"Bcefghjklmpquvxyz' isn't a word". Thanks.

No. It is not a pangram. Pangrams are made up of real words. You cannot make up words for pangrams. That would not make sense.

Punctuate the ends of all sentences.
No, it is not a pangram.

But it is an interesting question. You have posted three threads here about the same thing. What is unclear to you? What are you trying to figure out? What are you trying to do?
