My English teacher just gave me an easy exercise since I'm on a vacation. He asked me to correct this sentence
here's the sentence i have a problem with,
"When I go to the beach"
And then I answered "I go to the beach" and he asked me back that 'can we keep when in the sentence?'
So my question are:
1.what is the correct answer
and 2. can i start the sentence with 'when' (the sentence is not a question)
thanks for every answer :)

No. "When I go to the beach" is a clause, not a sentence.

"When I go to the beach" is not a complete sentence. "I go to the beach" is a correct sentence.
The correct answer is "No, we can't keep 'when' in the 'sentence'.

and 2. can i start the sentence with 'when' (the sentence is not a question)

Yes, you can:

When I go to the beach, I wear a hat. (This is a complete sentence now and is not a question.)

Yes, I agree the answer is either 'yes' or 'no' depending on how you define "the sentence". Since it's not a sentence, the question isn't answerable legitimately. Yes, you can make a grammatical sentence with the string, "When I go to the beach". No, you can't leave 'when' there if you intend to stop at "When I go to the beach."

Is it "when I go to the beach" a unfinished sentence?

I think the answer to your question is already in post#3 above, but I am not a teacher.

'When' is a conjunction, so another clause is needed to form a complete sentence.

Not a teacher.

Is it "when I go to the beach" a unfinished sentence?

Alone, it makes no sense. It could make sense as an answer:

A: When do you wear sunscreen?
B: When I go to the beach.

I agree. But it is still not a sentence.
