Can you please help me correct this sentence? the mountian in the oil paynting is mtt hood explained the museum giude

***NOT A TEACHER***Perhaps something like: The museum guide explained that the mountain in the oil painting was Mt. Hood. (P.S. Some native speakers prefer to say "...IS Mt. Hood.")

It's hard to know from what you've asked whether this is a direct quote or not. It sounds like it from your presentation though, thus:

"The mountain in the oil painting is Mount Hood," explained the museum guide.
