Good time of this beautiful snowy day to everyone,

I've got a question concerning one of the forms which we use when we ask someone about what they have/have got.

I know that there are two possible forms to ask questions and answer:

Do you have a car?
Have you got a car?

I don't have a car, but I have a bicycle.
I haven't got a car, I've got a bicycle.

Yesterday I bumped into the following form:

Have you a camera?
Have you a dog?
Have you a brother? etc.

I've never heard anyone use this form, but I found it in an English textbook for foreign elementary learners.

Is this form acceptable? Is it formal/informal?
When and how often is it used?

Please see the attached scan.

Thank you.

Is this form acceptable? Yes. Is it formal/informal? Fairly formal.
When and how often is it used? Impossible to say. It is used by some native speakers.

Please see the attached scan.

Thank you.

Thank you for providing the the scan. I wish more people would provide full details/context of where they heard or saw something.

This construction is fairly formal, and is used only by a minority of speakers of BrE. I think that it is very rare in AmE.

The last person I knew to regularly use the "Have you a dog?" construction was my grandfather who died a year ago aged 89. I associate it with older people who still use rather formal language.

I would say "Have you got a dog?" as my first choice and then "Do you have a dog?" as a less likely alternative.

Thank you very much for your replies, guys.

I understand now that "Have you..?" and "Do you have..?" are formal questions and "Have you got..?" is more informal.

Would the short answers for "Have you a car?" be the same as for "Have you got a car?" which are:

Yes, I have.
No, I haven't. ??

Thank you very much in advance.

'Do you have' is acceptable in formal and informal AmE

Yes, I have......No, I haven't. ?[STRIKE]?[/STRIKE]
Yes, in BrE.
