Hi all,

Please consider the following sentence:-

"Please find attached a draft letter for your approval."

My questions:-

(1) Can I use "a" in the above sentence or should I use "the"?
(2) I understand "draft" can be used as a noun or verb so I wonder if it is possible to say "draft letter" as it sounds to me that "draft" is used as an adjective here.

Thanks!

Not a teacher.

I think this is correct as "the" can refer to the specific letter attached.

"Please find the attached draft letter for your approval."

Hi,

IMO, the sentence is correct as it is.

If I wanted to use "the", I would rewrite it as "Please find attached the draft letter we talked about this morning/yesterday afternoon". That is, if the recipient knew already which draft letter I'm speaking about.
