As a part of my examination I was ask to speak about if I've had an unpleasant situation while driving.
And i realized how much am struggling with past tenses although I know differences between them am still unable to use in practical speech. here is what i sad
I would speak about a situation which happen to take a place 1 month ago.
Me and my friend were done with a job and headed toward his car as we wanted to go to our homes.
Everything was good (had been good), until tire went felt in the middle of our drive back home.
Since we were in the middle of nowhere we didn't have wi-fi signal, but we were fortunate enough to have credit on ours phones, so we called local tow service which on our surprise came really quick. We thought how they would tow away his car in a repair service, but the whole repairing process took a place on the road and it didn't last long. After that we were charged a fee for a service, but we were sure we can proceed safely our trip back.

I am going to tell you about something that happened a month ago. My friend and I were finished with a job and got in his car to head home. (Me to my house and him to his.) Everything went well until one of the tires went flat in the middle of our drive back home.

After that we were charged a fee for the service, and we then got back in the car and headed home.
Use "but" to change direction. Example: "We thought it was going to cost $100, but it was much cheaper."
