I got two sentences here:
1. Finishing the homework, he went home.
2. Having finished the homework, he went home.
Do both work well? Is there any difference between them?
Deep thanks for your help.

I got wrote/found the following two sentences here:

1. Finishing the homework, he went home. ❌
2. Having finished the his homework, he went home. ✅ (with my correction)

Deep Many thanks for your help.
See above. Always tell us whether you wrote sentences yourself or if you saw them somewhere. If someone else wrote them, you must tell us who wrote them and where you found them.

1. Finishing the homework, he went home.
This is one of the rare occasions when I disagree with emsr2d2. I find that sentence acceptable, especially if the going home happens immediately after the finishing.
