"Nutritional management to consider: increase number of feeding times per day, concentrate feeding during the fresh part of the day/night"

it's about feeding pigs (from a booklet)
what is this "fresh part of day"? early? chilly? can it mean both?

Thanks a lot

I believe it means in the first/early part of the day/night, it makes sense at least.

I am a native speaker of English, and it means nothing to me.

That would be my guess as well.
