And right there you'll see why expecting a black-and-white answer to any question here is potentially pointless. I think they're both fine. Bhaisahab thinks they're both unnatural. Go figure!

I'll admit that there are better ways of saying it. "I'm a college student" for example.

I've found out the phrasal verb 'be on about'. Thanks.

I'm pleased to hear it. I still haven't the faintest idea what you meant in post #14.

Everyone got down on me,[SPACE]nobody answered.
Like a game-- find a mistake.[SPACE]I took part.

Remember to put a space after every comma and after every full stop.

Thanks for your help and especially for 'dictionary of English Phrasal Verbs'.

It's not easy to be natural! Thanks.

I'm a student. I go to college.
I'm a student. I'm studying at a college.

Have you considered the much neater "I'm a college student"?

Have you considered the much neater "I'm a college student"?

That sounds very familiar! Ah yes, it's the very same sentence I suggested in post #22, bhaisahab backed up in post #29 and here it is again. If nothing else, that should tell the OP that that is a much more natural choice!

Oh dear.

I must confess I lost interest in this thread after a while and missed page 3.

But I'was glad to read your dialog. I didn't miss anything.

Towcats, you have been asked before not to make a new post just to say 'Thanks'. It is enough to just click the Like button.

The reason is that it is flagged as a new post, so we think you might have a follow-up question or something to add. Those of us with slow internet connections and/or old computers have to waste valuable time waiting for it to appear.

You could have also added 'Thanks' to post #35 three minutes later by using the Edit Post feature.
