IN the dialogue above,

Can "I wish you would" be replaced with "I wish you did"?

or does it change the meaning?

No. That is not possible. If Carla regretted that Carey did not call the police, she would say, "I wished you had".

Well, first I was gonna ask a question about what "got it in for me" means within the context of somebody saying,"If you got it in for me, bring your gun. That wrist slit was just rough."
but fortunately I found the answer by googling it, and not long after, another questions popped up into my head while I was watching a movie where that dialogue was taking place, so I backspaced everything I had written before and typed the new question and posted it without changing the title. It was only after I had posted the thread that I realized I didn't change the title and there was nothing I could do to fix it. I am sorry. I will try to be more cautious next time.

By the way, there was a British actress named Carey Mulligan in the movie. Never saw her before. She was alright, Sir.
