Hi!
Hi have 2 sentences.What is the correct form?(The exercise is from my english book)

"When the burglar saw the lights to go on he left."
"When the burglar saw the lights go on he left."

Thanks!
 
Only the second is correct. There should be comma after "on".

​What if there were no go included, would it have the same meaning, please?


 
No, it wouldn't have the same meaning.
 
Interestingly, "go on" and "come on" have the same meaning here.
 
When the burglar saw the lights on, he left = When the burglar saw that the lights were on, he left.
