I heard someone say: "The geek was hammered in the tackle." What did he mean?

Who said it, and in what context?

I don't remember the context.

Then it could mean that the boring computer nerd was hit repeatedly with a hammer while lurking behind the fishing equipment.

Or it could mean something else.

Or it could mean something else.

I recall an episode of Blackadder in which Rowan Atkinson's character believes his superior officer has ordered him to expose his masculine organ. He asks for confirmation: "Tackle out, sir?"

No context.

Thread closed.

Unless the geek fished, I'd go with Probus' explanation.
