Hello,

I'm curious if I can say:

I was happy about seeing you and the other guys from our class. (I mean that unfortunately I can't come to the meeting)

Can I use the gerund form in this context?

Thank you for your replies.

Your sentence doesn't have your intended meaning.

I meant something like that:
I was happy about seeing you and the other guys. Unfortunately, I can't to the party.

Does it work now?

The ending requires something after "can't", such as "come to" or "attend".

How about I was looking forward to seeing you?

You were happy about the prospect of the seeing them. Your sentence really does convery the idea that you did see them, even if you make it clear later that you didn't.

"I would have been happy if I had attended the party and seen you and others there."
