Mentioning the month doesn't make any difference.
Her birthday is on the 29th.
Her birthday is on the 29th of March.
Bear in mind that you might see "Her birthday is on 29th March" in writing (no "the" and no "of") but it would still be spoken aloud as "the 29th of March".
If they had used "the" but not "of", it would have been incorrect.
Usual AmE.In writing: Her birthday is on the 29th. OK if the reader understood the month.
In writing: Her birthday is on 29th March. "...is on the 29th of March" or "is on March 29th".
Spoken: Her birthday is on the 29th of March. OK.
