"Email" is not capitalized. I don't think blaming it on the cab driver is an acceptable reason for being late to work. It is up to you to tell him to come to pick you up earlier to allow for delays caused by traffic. It is within your control.

I have done it but he doesn't listen. I talked to transport department as well but they don't listen either and I don't like being late at all.

What do you mean by "To allow for delays"? Could you please explain?

I think there's some misunderstanding going on here. Tufguy, your employer arranges the cab service, right? That makes your employer responsible for the taxi's punctuality problem. Western employers rarely provide transportation for their employees, hence the puzzled responses you're getting.

Do you know what it means to allow for delays caused by traffic? You know what traffic is, don't you? And you know what a delay is don't you? Put two and two together.

To allow for delays - To allow more time for getting to work by departing from home earlier, taking into consideration that you will be delayed by the traffic.

But since the cab driver is being arranged by your company, I guess it is not under your control and you cannot be blamed.
