What do you call the piece of electronic equipment that shows the number of the order at service at a restaurant?

Thanks in advance.

I've never been to a restaurant where an order number appears anywhere.

I don't see the relevance of your link.

What words/phrases did you search for in order to get those hits? I notice that the page you linked to was in Arabic. What is the English translation of the Arabic words you searched? You can get a translation from any decent online translation tool.

Ah! The now serving pictures tell me what you were referring to. In many take-out restaurants, they give the customers a number with their order. They display the number when the order is ready. I don't know of a specific name.

Strange equipment, I have never seen anything like that ... It must be a little bit annoying and frustrating if you know the number of your order (n. 26, for example) while the thing on the wall is showing n. 3 is being served right now ...

But as you may have noticed, the websites you mentioned describe the thing as a counter or a turn-on-matic wall sign.

I think you can see the same thing in many places; for example in banks where you get also an ordinal number and then you wait for it to be displayed on the big LCDs.

Try "electronic queue display."
Out of interest, you may also want to learn "restaurant pager." ;-)

strange boy, everybody has a question. Your thread title is useless.

A better title would have been The piece of electronic equipment.

Extract from the Posting Guidelines:

'Thread titles should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.'

Restaurant pager! That's it! At Panera Bread they give you this thing that lights up and buzzes when your order is ready. I had never felt the need to know its name.
