A: Do you know Yang Hongying (a famous Chinese children’s book writer) has just published a new book?
B: Yes, and I have read the book for a week.
(Self-made.)
Does the sentence--I have read the book for a week--make sense here? Is it necessary to say “I have been reading the book for a week”?
