Which is correct?

1) I hope everyone read it!
2) I hope everyone reads it!

They're both correct. Number one uses the past simple, pronounced like "red". Number two uses the present simple, pronounced like "reeds".

Context will determine which is appropriate for a given situation.

More context is needed to answer correctly.

1) "Your homework assignment yesterday was to read the newspaper article. I hope everyone read it!"
2) "Your homework assignment for tonight is to read the newspaper article that was just given to you. I hope everyone reads it!
