See above. I agree with 5jj that we'd usually go with the active form.My office colleague told me that he had a big house but later on Icame to knowdiscovered/found out that "I was lied to".
If the part about being misinformed were in the passive, the part about being lied to would be natural in the passive:My office colleague old me that he had a big house but later on I came to know that "I was lied to".
Is it correct to say "I was lied to"?
