In or To Abroad?? Or just Abroad???

I have a POD [Pocket Oxford Dictionary] here & according to this dictionary ABROAD means IN OR TO A FOREIGN COUNTRY OR COUNTRIES

Since it already contains IN or TO, is it correct to say "I WANNA GO TO ABROAD" or "I WANNA STUDY IN ABROAD"? Some people say that.

Shouldn't it be just "ABROAD" instead of "IN OR TO ABROAD"?:?:

Because it already means IN OR TO A FOREIGN LAND.

Absolutely right. It should just be "abroad".

I want to go abroad = I want to go to a foreign country.

I want to study abroad = I want to study in a foreign country.

He comes from somewhere abroad = He comes from a foreign country.

"I want to go/study abroad", as you correctly say, "abroad" doesn't require a preposition.
