[Vocabulary] In the top middle of the picture

I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere already.

Would you consider "In the top middle of the picture you can see a town..." common usage in written English (BE)?

(It sounded a bit akward to me but then again I may have corrected one too many essays) :-D:-D

I would really appreciate your comments on this. Thank you.

We know what you mean, but I think I'd say in the top centre of the picture.
