According to Interstudy, a nonprofit organization that studies health maintenance organizations(HMO's), only 36 percent of the nation's 607 HMO's were profitable last year; it estimates that this year 73 percent will be.

:?
1) I have never seen the word Interstudy, and what's the meaning of Interstuday?
International study?
2) I have meditated the structure of sentence for a while, and at first I cannot understand it.
Now I feel the red part is the appositive of HMO's. Is my opinion right?

Sincere thanks!!!

Interstudy is the name of an organisation. It is a nonprofit organization that studies health maintenance organizations(HMO's).

The parts in red are the main clauses of the sentence. The words are what Interstudy has reported.
